Kaduthuruthy Block Panchayat is a rural administrative unit located in the northwestern part of Kottayam district, Kerala. It falls within the jurisdiction of the historically significant Vaikom Taluk. Situated across a transitional landscape of lowlands and midlands, the area is characterized by flat alluvial plains, small hills, and a network of river basins connected to the backwaters. Kaduthuruthy Block Panchayat, a key rural local self-government institution within the three-tier Panchayat Raj system, comprises six Grama Panchayats: Kaduthuruthy, Kallara, Mulakkulam, Velloor, Thalayolaparambu, and Njizhoor.

The boundaries of Kaduthuruthy Block Panchayat are: North – Ernakulam district (The Mulakkulam and Velloor panchayats within the block share borders with the Piravom region of Ernakulam district); West – Vaikom Block Panchayat (Kottayam district); East – Uzhavoor Block Panchayat (Kottayam district); and South – Ettumanoor Block Panchayat (Kottayam district).
